Vuthy Lay is an architectural designer & fine artist based in the Westend of Providence, Rhode Island. Their practice cycles between language, drawing and making to create tools for negotiating cultural trauma. Their research into diasporic space-making and power objects offer a critical lens into the refugee community rather than ideals for a national identity. They repair artifacts by reconstructing their roles within our present moment to reclaim narratives erased amidst the Cambodian Genocide, Colonialism and Capitalism.
